Automatic fire sprinkler systems are one of the most effective available tools to suppress and control a fire within a building. Sprinkler systems will automatically detect a fire and transmit an alarm whilst suppressing the fire which prevents it from spreading or becoming uncontrollable.
Fire sprinkler systems can be installed within Class 1B and Class 2 to 9 buildings and consist of a series of water filled pipes which connect to strategically placed sprinkler heads that extend from the ceiling. Sprinkler heads contain a heat-sensitive element, namely a glass bulb or fusible link, which when heated to a designated temperature will release the flow of water through the sprinkler head. Sprinkler systems may be powered by large-scale pumps that ensure a strong flow of water throughout the system.
